Question 1: What is the warranty or guarantee?
Answer: I have a 100% satisfaction guaranteed policy. If you are not completely happy with your purchase simply return it for a full refund (less shipping) within 30 days of receiving it. All products have a 1 year warranty.

Question 2: International orders
Answer: I do ship internationally. Please contact me ahead of time so that I can give you an accurate shipping quote.

Question 3: I want to diagnose and repair airbags and/or abs brake systems. Will this tool do the job?
Answer: No, it won't help. The device only querries powertrain controllers. Most of these functions are manufacturer specific. If your airbag or abs system shows a fault, you should probably take it to your dealer and have them troubleshoot it for you.

Question 4: My vehicle displays trouble code P1234 (example code). What part should I replace?
Answer: It is hard to give a definite answer. The diagnostic code that you get from your vehicle's ECU can help guide you, but it is not a direct indication of which part to replace. When you get a trouble code, it is an indication of a problem that the vehicle's ECU has detected, but often, you must investigate the root cause. Trouble codes above P1000 may be defined differently by each manufacturer, so be sure to check in a manual which is devoted to the particular model.

Question 5: I don't see the trouble code the scanner displayed in the booklet
Answer: The trouble codes in the booklet are generic trouble codes that apply for every manufacturer. Trouble codes above P1000 may be defined differently by each manufacturer, so be sure to check in a manual which is devoted to the particular model or do an online search for the trouble code that was displayed. I also have some OBDII resources listed on the OBDII Information page of this site.

Question 6: Can I reprogram my car, or change internal operating tables/parameters?
Answer: No, it will NOT reprogram the vehicle ECU, or change any operating parameters. The only data that it can change is clearing diagnostic data, such as trouble codes or on-board test results.

Question 7: Do you have anything for OBD 1 cars (pre 1996)?
Answer: Not at this time.

Question 8: Will your OBDII or CAN tools work on VW or Audi vehicles?
Answer: They will work with some VW and Audi Vehicles but may not display all available codes for these cars, unless you purchase the VW/Audi Scanner, which is fully compatible with these vehicles.

Question 9: I hooked up the tool and was able to clear my check engine light, but I could not retrieve any codes. Why is this?
Answer: The check engine light may appear without any codes being present in some vehicles. This appears to routinely happen in certain vehicles.

Question 10: I cleared the codes and turned off the check engine light, but it keeps coming back. Why?
Answer: Scan for codes again. If the check engine light keeps coming back, it is a sign that there is still a problem that you vehicle's ECU is detecting. The check engine light will continue to return until the problem is resolved.
